By registering for any workshop offered by Mad Scientist Lab (“MSL,” “we,” “our”), you agree to the Terms & Conditions below.
These policies ensure a safe, enjoyable, and organized experience for all children and families.
1. Program Overview
Mad Scientist Lab provides hands-on STEM workshops for children ages 8–12. Activities may include building, testing, launching small rockets, and other science experiments suitable for this age group.
All programs are educational, inquiry-based, and supervised at all times.
2. Registration & Payment
2.1 Registration Process
A child’s spot is only held once:
The registration form is submitted, and
The deposit is received.
We will confirm your child’s seat by email after we receive the deposit.
2.2 Deposit
A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve each participant’s seat.
Deposits help us secure the venue, materials, insurance, and staffing for a limited-capacity workshop.
2.3 Final Payment
The remaining balance of the workshop fee is due two weeks prior to the first day of the workshop, unless otherwise communicated.
Failure to pay by the deadline may result in the release of your child’s spot.
3. Cancellations & Refunds
3.1 Parent Cancellations
Deposits are non-refundable.
Cancellations made two weeks before the first session may receive a refund of any amount paid beyond the $50 deposit.
Cancellations made within 2 weeks of the workshop are not refundable, as materials and staffing are already secured.
You may transfer your child’s spot to another qualifying child if needed. Please notify us by email.
3.2 Workshop Cancellations (by Mad Scientist Lab)
If we must cancel a workshop due to low enrollment, illness, venue issues, or unforeseen circumstances:
You will receive a full refund, including the deposit.
We will provide advance notice whenever possible.
3.3 Weather Policy
Outdoor rocket launch sessions may be rescheduled due to unsafe weather.
We will notify parents with as much notice as possible.
4. Safety & Participant Expectations
4.1 Safety Standards
Mad Scientist Lab follows strict safety procedures for all experiments and equipment.
However, hands-on science activities carry inherent risks (e.g., minor scrapes, spills, flying debris).
By enrolling, you acknowledge and accept these risks.
4.2 Behavior Expectations
To ensure safety:
Participants must follow instructor directions
Unsafe or disruptive behavior may result in removal from activities
Refunds are not provided in cases of dismissal due to behavior
4.3 Allergies & Medical Conditions
Parents/guardians are responsible for informing us of:
Allergies
Medical needs
Emergency instructions
We do not administer medication.
5. Drop-Off & Pick-Up
Children must be signed in and out by a parent or authorized adult.
Please arrive on time for both drop-off and pick-up.
Late pick-up fees may apply if a child is left beyond 10 minutes after dismissal.
6. Liability Waiver
By enrolling, you agree that:
Participation is voluntary
You assume all ordinary risks associated with workshop activities
Mad Scientist Lab and its instructors are not liable for injuries resulting from typical hands-on activities, provided safety instructions were followed
This does not limit liability in cases of negligence or unsafe practices by staff.
7. Photos & Media
We may take photos or short videos for internal documentation or promotional materials.
You may opt out at any time by emailing us or informing us at drop-off.
We will never publish identifying information (names, schools, etc.).
8. Privacy & Data
We collect:
Child information
Parent contact information
Emergency contact details
Medical/allergy notes
This information is used only for:
Workshop registration
Safety
Emergency communication
Updates regarding your child’s program
We do not sell, share, or distribute personal information.
